Bhavina Patel Claims Gold in Para TT; Wrestlers win three golds and three bronzes to continue the reign

Star India Para TT star Bhavina Patel emerged victorious from the finals, taking the gold medal. While Sonalben took Patel bronze to add even more to India’s kitties.

Avinash Sable broke his own national record by winning silver in the men’s 3000m steeplechase. While Priyanka Goswami broke a three-year-old national record by taking the silver medal in the women’s 10,000m.

Indian star boxers Nikhat Zareen, Amit Panghal, Sagar and Neetu also secured at least silver medals for India. While Mohammed Hussam Uddin and Ravi Tokas and Jaisimine lost their semifinal bouts and settled for bronze medals.

India took silver in the Lawn Bowls Men’s Fours category after suffering an 18-5 loss to Northern Ireland in their last game.

Six Indian wrestlers were in action on Friday and each of them won a medal at the ongoing CWG 2022 in Birmingham. Six more wrestlers will take to the mat on Saturday, hoping to add more medals to India’s tally. As well as wrestling, the Indian men’s team competes in the gold medal fight against Northern Ireland with seven boxers who have already secured at least bronze hoping to make it to the final and fight for gold.

And then two Indian teams will also compete in the semi-finals of their respective events. The men’s team meets South Africa in the ice hockey semifinals, while the women’s team meets England in the cricket semifinals. A win for everyone earns them a medal and a chance to go for gold later.

Then there is also plenty of action in table tennis, badminton and athletics.
