Southlands Farmers Market kicks off in Delta, BC

Tsawwassen Southlands Development – dubbed “Canada’s Largest Farm” – is launching a new weekly farmers market.

The market, which premieres on Saturday 19th June and is hosted by the Southlands Grange Center for Farming and Food, will take place weekly until 18th December in the market square outside the Grange.

Outdoor market buyers can look forward to fresh, locally grown produce, as well as artisanal products of the edible and inedible varieties. Vendors include Four Winds Brewery, Chaerea Jewelery, Vancouver Island Berries, Desirée Blooms, and English Bay Mini Donuts, and more.

For entertainment, local company Nook Play Studio offers supervised arts and crafts classes on-site for a fee, either through a pop-up arts bar or registered classes. Parents have the option to pay an additional fee to leave their child in the care of Nook staff. You can pre-order an “Art on the Market” course online.

While in Southlands you can walk around to see what is growing in the allotments or stroll through the Earthwise garden. Grab a cup of coffee at Cafe Prado or rent an e-bike from Pedego and head down to nearby Centennial Beach.

COVID-19 security protocols are being introduced in the market. Dogs are allowed in Southlands, but not in the market itself. Buyers are encouraged to bring their own bags.
